The Quilotoa Loop is one of Ecuador’s most rewarding trekking adventures. This unique multi-day hike lets you experience the beauty of the Andes without having to carry heavy camping equipment. Leave your extra belongings in Latacunga and enjoy a comfortable lodge-to-lodge trek, staying in friendly local hostels that provide accommodation, meals, and a warm welcome.
Along the way, you’ll pass through traditional Andean villages, meet local communities, and follow scenic trails far from the crowds. The route takes you across breathtaking landscapes, including fertile valleys, amazing canyons, and the beautiful Páramo, the high-altitude ecosystem that characterizes the Ecuadorian Andes.
The highlight of the trek is the magnificent Quilotoa Crater Lake, whose striking turquoise waters create one of the most spectacular views in South America.
